Silvy Wright – President and CEO at Northbridge
Wright has been president and CEO of Northbridge since 2011. Before coming over to the company, Wright played an important role in building Markel Insurance into Canada’s premier trucking insurer. She was Markel’s president and CEO from 2006, as well as executive vice president and vice president – finance since she joined the company in 1994. Wright has also held other senior positions in the insurance and financial services industries.
Wright has an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Commerce from the University of Toronto and is a Chartered Accountant. She was recently appointed to the Insurance Bureau of Canada’s board of directors as chair.
Culture
Northbridge invests in communities through partnerships with three national youth-focused organizations: Pathways to Education, DAREarts Foundation, and SickKids Foundation. The company also supports Tree Canada, a non-profit charitable organization that promotes the planting and nurturing of trees in Canada, the United Way, and the Women in Insurance Cancer Crusade (WICC).
