Claims management and loss adjusting specialist firm Sedgwick has announced the appointment of Peter Farrelly as its chief operating officer for the UK sector.
With a career spanning over three decades in the industry, Farrelly ascends to this position after a tenure as managing director for Sedgwick’s commercial claims services in the UK since 2019.
Farrelly's track record includes leading initiatives such as Sedgwick's colleague development programs aimed at tackling the insurance industry's talent development and succession planning challenges. Farrelly has handled a variety of complex commercial property and business interruption claims across numerous risk categories.
Prior to Sedgwick, Farrelly honed his skills at GAB Robins (now part of Gallagher) for more than two decades, most notably as director for major and complex loss.
“I look forward to maximising operational efficiencies for the benefit of our valued clients and colleagues. This will be key to ensuring Sedgwick’s continued success and demonstrating our commitment to excellence and growth,” Farrelly said.
Also, in line with Farrelly’s promotion, Joseph Noel will advance to the position of managing director, commercial claims services.
Noel, a Sedgwick veteran since 2003, has 27 years of experience in the industry, with a background in managing complex property and liability claims throughout the UK and Europe, in addition to leading multinational projects.
Neil Gibson, CEO of Sedgwick in the UK, expressed his confidence in Farrelly's leadership, highlighting his experience in enhancing operations, advancing process improvements, and spearheading innovation.
“Peter’s unparalleled expertise in scaling operations, driving process improvements, and fostering innovation give me the greatest confidence in his ability to deliver operational excellence and fuel business growth amid challenging socioeconomic conditions,” Gibson said.
Gibson also praised the leadership capabilities of both Farrelly and Noel, affirming their new respective roles.
“The track records of these two outstanding leaders put us in a fantastic position to achieve the best for our clients, customers and colleagues,” he said.
Earlier this month, the global claims specialist has also brought in Emily Fink (pictured) as the company’s new chief marketing officer.
