Independent insurance broker Sutton Winson has hired two risk management veterans to strengthen its consultancy arm.

The industry player has appointed John Williams and Tracey Arnold as health and safety risk consultants. The two bring a combined 50 years of risk management experience to the company.

Williams, who boasts 30 years of experience in risk management, has been heavily involved in the haulage and transport industry. His roles have also extended to health and safety aspects across the sector, including risk assessment production for household clients who design operating management systems.

Arnold, meanwhile, has a broad range of experience but has gained specific expertise in media laboratories, education, construction, social housing and facilities safety. Before joining Sutton Winson, she worked at the University of Roehampton in London.

Sutton Winson managing director David Thomson said the two risk management veterans have joined the company when it is facing a “really optimistic time” and a “very challenging environment.”

"We continue to build the skills and expertise to help our clients reduce risk and premium costs,” Thomson said.

“Our independence allows us to create an environment of opportunity and development for our staff, and we are fortunate to be able to attract the industry’s brightest people,” he added.
