TAL Risk Academy has reached its 10-year milestone, highlighting a decade of providing professional development and training for financial advisers, Professional Year candidates, and practice staff.

Established in 2015 by life insurer TAL, the academy has aimed to support advisers in meeting industry requirements and adapting to regulatory and market shifts.

TAL Risk Academy milestones

Over the past decade, the academy has recorded more than 118,000 course enrolments and issued 185,483 CPD points. Adviser satisfaction ratings have averaged 4.6 out of 5 over this period.

Beau Riley (pictured), TAL’s general manager of retail sales & new business, acknowledged the milestone, highlighting the contributions of financial advisers and educators over the years.

“We’re proud of the support it provides advisers through every career stage, and we look forward to continuing to strengthen the advice profession for the next decade and beyond,” he said.
TAL 2025 graduate program

Coinciding with the anniversary, TAL – which also recently celebrated its milestones – has launched its 2025 course program, which expands on its existing training framework.

The program is structured around five key areas:

  • foundations
  • professional year
  • advice
  • business management
  • working with TAL

These courses have been designed with input from industry professionals to ensure they align with the evolving needs of financial advisers at different career stages.

A new addition this year is a training series specifically developed for client support staff and paraplanners, aimed at improving efficiency in daily operations such as administrative management and client retention.

TAL Risk Academy’s new learning platform

The academy is also introducing a new learning platform in 2025, offering mobile access, CPD tracking, and an improved user experience for course navigation.
