The Underwriting Agencies Council (UAC) has announced seven nominations for four vacancies on its board of directors and the launch of a sponsorship proposal for the 2019 Sydney Underwriting Expo.
Vying for the four UAC board roles are Suzie White, head of accident and health at Woodina, Gida Irving, CEO of Amazon, Trent Brown, director of Allstate Underwriting, Sarogini Millott, senior underwriter at Community Underwriting, as well as retiring directors Simon Lightbody, CEO of Steadfast Underwriting Agencies, Heath Amber, managing director of millennium, and Emily Walker, national development manager for Axis, who are offering themselves for re-election.
The vote will be conducted at the UAC annual general meeting on December 13 in Sydney.
The peak underwriting body is also calling on organisations to participate as a sponsor for the Sydney Underwriting Expo, which will be held on March 08 at the Hyatt Regency Hotel, 161 Sussex St, Sydney.
Aside from the new and bigger venue, the event will feature Theatrette slots so members can directly present their new products or services to target audiences, afternoon drinks to enhance networking opportunities, and networking tables for members to meet brokers and clients in a semi-private area, on top of the initiatives offered at the highly successful 2018 Sydney Underwriting Expo.
Sponsoring the event will provide organisations exposures commensurate with their financial commitment, UAC said.
“Sponsorship demonstrates your level of support and commitment to underwriting agencies and their broker clients in NSW and beyond,” said William Legge, UAC general manager.
