Specialist insurance law firm Sparke Helmore has welcomed four new partners, two special counsels, one senior associate, as well as 25 lawyers and support staff to its commercial insurance team.
The four partners were Kiley Hodges, Ian Jones, Renee Sadler, and Matthew Seisun – all highly experienced insurance lawyers who most recently served as partners at Curwood Lawyers.
Hodges specialises in professional indemnity and property and construction, Jones in fraud-related and catastrophic motor-vehicle insurance claims for major insurers, Sadler in insurance litigation, particularly on CTP claims and fraud, and Seisun in the areas of personal injury and compulsory third-party claims as well as public risk claims.
Jones, Sadler, and Seisun will be based in Sparke Helmore's Sydney office, while Hodges will be based in Brisbane.
The two special counsel and one senior associate, meanwhile, bring extensive CTP expertise to the team, the firm said.
Philip Salem, national managing partner at Sparke Helmore, said the addition of 32 specialists to the firm's commercial insurance practice is “yet another significant step in enhancing the legal expertise we provide to our insurance clients nationally.”
"We know that to provide the full-service insurance offering that many domestic insurers value, it's crucial to have strong financial lines, CTP liability, construction, and professional indemnity practices,” Salem said. “With the addition of this team, we have that. In fact, with these high-calibre hires, we enhance our standing as one of the largest insurance law practices in Australia.”
