Resolution Life Australasia, part of global life insurance company Resolution Life Group, has appointed Tim Tez as its new CEO, effective February 2023.
Tez is currently the CEO, medical indemnity, of Avant Mutual. He has over 20 years of experience in the life and health insurance industry with an extensive background across distribution, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), strategy, reinsurance, product, pricing, marketing, and government relations.
Tez will replace Megan Beer, who will relocate to London in 2023 to serve as the chief operating officer (COO) of Resolution Life Group as part of John Hele's retirement, who will continue to serve as the president and COO until July 2023.
As the COO, Beer will oversee the group's global operations, including transforming its acquired businesses, and serve as a board member of the group's key subsidiaries, including continued service on the Resolution Life Australasia boards.
Sir Clive Cowdery, founder and executive chairman of Resolution Life Group, has welcomed Taz to Resolution Life Australasia's leadership team.
“We are pleased with the development of the Australasian business and are certain that with Tim's expertise, experience, and leadership, Resolution Life will continue to grow as the leading in-force specialist life insurer in Australasia,” he said.
He also thanked Beer and Hele for their contributions to the group in their previous roles: “I would like to thank Megan for the outstanding job she has done in successfully overseeing the transition from AMP to Resolution Life. We appreciate her willingness to take on greater responsibilities in our global organisation and look forward to her move to the new role. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank John for his leadership during these last years of rapid growth for Resolution Life.”
Resolution Life Australasia also shook up its leadership team last month by appointing a chief customer and operating officer, as well as a dual role of general manager for New Zealand and customer experience lead for Australasia.
