The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) and insurers will visit Eugowra, Parkes, and Forbes in mid-March to assist flood-impacted communities with their insurance concerns.
Since mid-November, over 13,000 claims totalling approximately $196 million have been lodged for flood damage in the region – including 6,552 home property claims, 4,038 home contents claims, and 763 motor vehicle claims.
The in-person customer meetings are part of insurers' continuing effort to assist policyholders with flood-related claims.
The ICA and insurers will visit Eugowra, Parkes, and Forbes on the following dates:
Tuesday, March 21, 12pm to 8pm in-person customer meetings with insurers.
Wednesday, March 22, 10am to 4pm in-person customer meetings with insurers.
Wednesday, March 22, 5pm to 8pm community information session.
Thursday, March 23, 12pm to 8pm in-person meetings with insurers.
The ICA encourages policyholders from surrounding areas to attend the community information on March 22 and book a consultation for individual claim assistance.
“Insurers are always available by phone or online; however, we know there's great value in holding community information sessions and in-person meetings in impacted communities,” ICA CEO Andrew Hall said. “We encourage policyholders who have flood-affected properties and would like assistance to meet with their insurer.”
The in-person meetings in Eugowra, Parkes, and Forbes in mid-March follow the meetings in southeast Queensland and northern New South Wales.
