An icare-backed social enterprise has officially opened its doors to injured workers in Girraween, NSW.

Craig's Table, an engagement and rehabilitation enterprise for injured workers in Girraween, launched this week, supported by $500,000 in seed funding from the icare Foundation.

In a statement, the insurance and care provider said Craig's Table aligns with its mission to help injured workers recover by empowering them to return to work and to life with renewed confidence and new skills.

Attending the event were Craig’s Table’s patron Paul Serong and his wife Christine, parents of Craig, after whom the social enterprise is named; and John Nagle, icare interim CEO. Other icare senior executives attended the event, including mental health expert Eugene McGarrell, general manager for health and community engagement, and Amanda Keogh, general manager of the icare foundation.

“Community interest is building, and we are looking forward to expanding the classroom-based programs which were co-designed by icare’s human-centred design specialists,” McGarrell said. “This is a wonderful initiative, and through Craig’s Table we hope to build a stronger community supporting injured workers across Western Sydney.”
