The year is almost over but IAG is still not done bolstering its leadership team – appointing Karen Ingram (pictured above) as interim group general counsel.

According to a media release, Ingram's appointment, effective from January 08, 2024, comes under the leadership of managing director and CEO Nick Hawkins.

Litigation, dispute resolution and advising government

The release said Ingram brings over 23 years of extensive experience in litigation and dispute resolution to the role.

Before joining IAG, Ingram served at Clayton Utz, where she provided counsel and representation to clients spanning various business sectors such as financial services, mining and resources, retail, healthcare, private equity and property. Her expertise, said the release, also extended to advising state and federal government agencies.

Beyond her legal pursuits, Ingram currently holds the position of chair at Sunnyfield disAbility Services and serves as a senior advisor for the Association of Children's Welfare Agencies (ACWA). Her academic background, said the release, includes a Bachelor of Laws with First Class Honours from the University of Sydney, coupled with a Masters in Dispute Resolution from the University of Technology Sydney.

Searching for a permanent group general counsel

The release also said that IAG has started an internal and external search for a permanent group general counsel.

Ingram's appointment follows IAG's announcement of a newly created role – executive manager for customer relations, regulatory, and transformation.
