Insurance brokerage Gallagher has confirmed a new partnership this week, teaming up with Australia’s largest professional association for supply chain and logistics practitioners.
The move will give all 3,000 members of the Supply Chain and Logistics Association of Australia access to specialist risk management advice and insurance solutions offered by Gallagher.
“Supply chain and logistics businesses play a pivotal role in the Australian economy, but are also subject to a complex and ever-changing regulatory environment,” said Gallagher’s Brendon Kropp, who serves as a dedicated point of contact for SCLAA members.
Kropp pointed to the new Chain of Responsibility legislation which comes into force in October as a key disrupter for the industry.
“This will place a burden of responsibility on all supply chain and logistics professionals to ensure their risk management processes and procedures are watertight and enforced to avoid potentially significant legal penalties,” he said. “And of course it’s essential that every business in the sector has the right level of insurance cover for their motor liability and professional risks.
“We can help ensure that SCLAA members have no gaps in cover and can avoid common pitfalls such as under-insurance, which can be devastating in the event of a major claim.”
SCLAA chair Amanda O’Brien agreed that the partnership provides a valuable opportunity for members to gain access to insurance advice that is tailored to the challenges they face.
