Gallagher South Australia has hosted a panel of presentations for its latest SA Family Business Australia Advisor Connect event.
The event, themed “The essentials of insurance for family businesses and why the market has changed,” brought together some 12 accredited family business advisors, with Tom DeSantis facilitating the Advisor Connect educational program and Branch Director Charmaine Noble overseeing the proceedings.
The event started off with an insurance Q&A session followed by discussions by each of the three Gallagher panelists, Huw Thomas from Gallagher corporate broking services, Stephen Hughes from professional services and financial lines, and Simon Connelly from Gallagher benefit services, on specific topics, illustrated by real-life case studies.
Key points covered included essential policies, the hardening market, issues affecting claims, what insurers look for, risk profile, and terms of contracts. Policies mentioned included property, professional liability, public indemnity, cyber security, management liability, and directors’ and officers’ cover, key person, and income protection insurance.
