Bupa Asia-Pacific CEO Hisham El-Ansary said the latest partnerships reflect the group's aim to respond to critical issues concerning the physical and mental health and wellbeing of communities.
“The pandemic has brought into sharp focus the link between planet and human health and how they both must be protected and nurtured,” El-Ansary said.
Through the foundation, Bupa will invest in prevention strategies to unite its employees, customers, and communities in “creating a healthier world.”

Since 2005, the Bupa Foundation has invested over $35 million in more than 130 different health and care projects and organisations, including its principal partner, Kids Helpline.
In September 2021, Bupa backed UNICEF Australia's VaccinAid campaign that aims to raise funds to support the delivery of two billion doses of COVID-19 vaccine to countries with limited access. The partnership saw the Bupa Foundation committed to donating $5 to the organisation for every Bupa employee across its Asia-Pacific business who is fully vaccinated by December 31, 2021.
El-Ansary commented: “Beyond donations, successful community partnerships bring together the expertise of organisations, aligned behind common objectives to create something greater together. This is certainly what we aim to develop with UNICEF Australia, Conservation Volunteers Australia, Kids Helpline, and Project Crimson in New Zealand.”
Aside from teaming up with organisations, Bupa recently launched a new curated health and wellbeing app, called Benefit Pocket, to provide a convenient and affordable way for people to access popular health and wellbeing services. It offers cashback rewards from more than 30 health and wellbeing partners, including Eco Modern Essentials, 28 by Sam Wood, Part and Parcel, Lovekins, and more.
Bupa will announce more details on the objectives and initiatives of each flagship partnership in the coming months.
