The Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF) has officially opened entries for the “Making a Difference” recognition awards in broking, claims, and general insurance.

The awards were set up as part of ANZIIF's “Year of the Insurance Professional” initiative, highlighting individuals who the trade body says have gone “above and beyond to display professionalism in their workplace and for their customers.”

“ANZIIF's Making a Difference Awards have created a great buzz in the insurance community,” said Damian Falkingham, general manager of industry engagement at ANZIIF. “By celebrating the things we do well, we can continue to raise the profile of insurance in the community. We encourage insurance professionals to enter by either self-nominating or nominating a colleague or peer who has demonstrated outstanding professionalism, commitment, achievement and passion in the insurance industry.”

According to ANZIIF, all winners will receive a profile on its online members centre, which receives high levels of engagement from all sectors of the insurance industry on a daily basis.

The Making a Difference Awards categories and prizes are: broking (supported by QBE), with a prize being a restaurant or travel voucher valued at $500; claims (supported by Independent Validation Advisory Australia), with the prize being a one-on-one session with IVAA’s managing director Matt McHutchison, or a professional biography write-up for the winner’s CV introductions and LinkedIn profile written by Foundry Productions; and general insurance (supported by JB Hi-Fi Solutions), with the prize being an Apple Watch valued at $299.

Entries will close on 24 September 2021, and the winners will be announced on 01 December 2021.
