The Hanover Insurance Group has announced an expansion of its Hanover Work Safe program, a suite of services aimed at enhancing worker safety.
The updated workers’ compensation claims program utilizes data and predictive analytics to understand the overall circumstances of an injured worker and how The Hanover can best facilitate recovery.
The insurance group also explained that the program goes beyond addressing the physical injury itself, taking into account psychological, social, and economic factors that could hinder recovery and a return to work.
These factors include stress levels, health beliefs, literacy, family dynamics, and the relationships between employers and employees, as well as the level of social support available.
Carmen Sharp (pictured above), senior vice president of claims at The Hanover, stated that the company’s enhanced claims approach differentiates it from other providers. By administering surveys to both injured employees and their employers at the time of injury, The Hanover can identify factors that might impact a claim earlier in the process, she suggested.
“By considering not only physical injuries but also psychological, social, and economic factors, we take a unique and individualized approach to workers’ compensation claims. Our data-driven model helps us better understand the injured individual, ensuring we can effectively support their specific recovery needs,” Sharp said.
In addition to its claims advocacy services, Hanover Work Safe also offers resources to help prevent worker injuries. The program includes information on safety management, employee selection and training, risk assessment and control, injury management, and continuous learning and improvement.
Policyholders have full access to these risk management and claims services as part of the program.
