Insurtech provider Betterview has partnered with areal imagery and location intelligence company Nearmap to enhance insurer response time and quality of response to catastrophic event-related claims. Customers of Betterview’s CAT response system (CAT-RS) for claims will now have access to inspection-grade imagery of areas impacted by severe weather events through Nearmap ImpactResponse.
The recently released CAT-RS provides live predictions of real damage using fast computer vision processing, enabling insurers to better manage resources even in the face of unpredictable natural disasters. Integrating aerial imagery into Betterview’s CAT-RS platform will help insurers rapidly and accurately assess the extent of damage to insured property, respond proactively to customers in need, and spot fraudulent claims by revealing historical property conditions before first notice of loss or arrival of a claims adjuster at the impacted location.
“This partnership is a great example of two companies joining forces to create a powerful solution,” said Betterview CEO and co-founder David Lyman. “Our predictive analytics, computer vision tools, and claim verification workflow with an intuitive UI, paired with Nearmap’s market-leading imagery, will help insurers quickly respond to their insureds in times of crisis while simultaneously reducing claims expenses.”
The partnership is in line with Betterview’s vision of empowering insurers to automate pricing, underwriting, and renewal and focus strategic action on critical properties, thus transforming the insurance industry from ‘repair and replace’ to ‘predict and prevent’.
