K&K Insurance has announced that Ron Norton is its new president and CEO, effective July 1, 2022. Norton is stepping into the top role as Todd Bixler retires.
Norton has a 36-year history with K&K, starting as an associate underwriter at the firm’s E&A division in 1986. Through his career with the company, Norton has grown and managed several K&K programs including leisure camps, campgrounds, girl scouts, and resorts.
In 2007, Norton moved into senior management as vice president of the leisure division. Under his leadership, the division grew and split into the present leisure and E&A divisions. Norton rose to chief underwriting officer in 2019 and was also instrumental to K&K’s partnership with three insurance carriers.
Bixler steps down after 12 years of leading K&K Insurance. During his tenure as CEO, he guided the company through many challenges and led K&K’s gross written premium to more than double.
K&K Insurance, a subsidiary of Aon, is celebrating 70 years in business. Based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the company is known as a leader in the sports, leisure, recreation, event, and entertainment insurance markets. It also prides itself as a pioneer of motorsports insurance.
