ALKEME, an insurance brokerage in the U.S., has announced its acquisition of Jacobson Professional Insurance (JPI), a provider specializing in legal malpractice insurance and risk management services.
Based in West Orange, New Jersey, JPI serves law firms and legal professionals nationwide. The acquisition aims to enhance ALKEME's professional liability offerings and strengthen its footprint in the legal sector.
Founded in 2011 by Scott Jacobson, JPI focuses on delivering malpractice coverage and risk management solutions to legal professionals. The company’s model is designed to lower premiums, improve coverage, and simplify the application process for its clients.
In a statement, ALKEME CEO Curtis Barton emphasized the strategic value of the acquisition, noting that JPI's expertise in legal malpractice insurance and risk management aligns with the company’s growth strategy.
"This acquisition not only expands our offerings in a crucial niche market but also enhances our ability to serve legal professionals with tailored, comprehensive insurance solutions," said Barton.
Jacobson will continue to lead his team under the ALKEME umbrella. He said the acquisition is "an exciting new chapter for our company."
ALKEME's proven growth platform and extensive resources will allow us to scale our operations, enhance our service offerings, and reach a broader client base while maintaining the personalized approach our clients have come to expect," said Jacobson.
Established in 2020, ALKEME operates as a full-service insurance agency, offering a wide range of commercial and personal insurance products, employee and executive benefits, and retirement and wealth management services. Presently, it has acquired more than 50 agencies and now serves customers from over 40 locations across 22 states.
The integration of JPI is part of ALKEME's broader strategy to expand its capabilities in niche markets while maintaining a focus on personalized service. With the addition of JPI, ALKEME aims to reinforce its position as a resource for legal professionals seeking risk management and insurance solutions tailored to their unique needs.
