AXA XL has appointed Katherine Gerber as head of energy transition in the Americas.
In her new role, Gerber will utilize the company’s industry knowledge and global reach to help clients in the Americas navigate and confront the challenges of energy transition and ensure that they can achieve their sustainability goals, while effectively managing potential risks. She will also devise underwriting strategies and supervise the development of innovative products and services.
Gerber will report to Jon Tellekamp, who was recently appointed chief underwriting officer for construction and energy.
Prior to joining AXA XL, Gerber was with Liberty Mutual Insurance, where she most recently served as global strategy and performance lead for energy transition risk. She also held various roles in the company focused on strategy and underwriting operations.
Donna Nadeau, AXA XL’s head of large commercial, said that Gerber will be an invaluable member of the team because of her experience in developing innovative strategies, as well as in driving operational excellence.
“With Katherine and her team’s help, we are committed to delivering tailored solutions that not only address the unique challenges of the transition to renewable energy, but also empower our clients to achieve sustainability goals,” Nadeau said.
The company also recently named Robert Malone as head of large accounts and portfolio management for its cyber insurance team in the Americas. Malone will focus on driving strategy and growth for the company’s large account cyber insurance portfolio, as well as supervise portfolio performance metrics and implement improvements through data analytics and reviews.
Last year, the company hired Russell Caminske and Ryan Larson as client relationship leaders (CRL) in the US. Caminske was named East Zone CRL, while Larson was appointed West Zone CRL.
