Aon has announced the establishment of two new leadership roles within its US reinsurance solutions division.

Stephen Hofmann (pictured above) has been named US CEO of reinsurance solutions, while Kevin Traetow will serve as US vice chairman of reinsurance solutions.

Both Hofmann and Traetow had held the positions of US co-presidents of Reinsurance Solutions since 2021. In their new roles, they will continue to report to Andy Marcell, CEO of Risk Capital for Aon. They will work together to shape Aon’s US reinsurance solutions strategy.

Marcell commented on their appointment, acknowledging their leadership during their tenure as co-presidents.

“Steve and Kevin spearheaded an impressive period of growth, deepening relationships with existing clients and expanding our portfolio with new opportunities, all while driving innovation and enabling better decisions for our clients. We congratulate both Steve and Kevin on their new roles as we embark on the next phase of growth for our US Reinsurance Solutions team,” he said.

Hofmann and Traetow were also key figures in the creation of the US leadership framework, which underscores Aon’s focus on developing talent and providing career advancement opportunities within the firm.

In other appointment news for Aon, the global brokerage also announced its former head of the UK’s insurance vertical, Emma Crookes, has taken on greater responsibilities as the new global head of Aon’s insurance vertical division.

In her new role, Crookes will enhance Aon’s client leadership model to ensure coordinated support for insurers across the firm. Additionally, she will join the global growth committee of Reinsurance Solutions.
