Gallagher Re has appointed Tom Dixon as head of Legacy UK, adding an experienced transaction and legacy specialist to its leadership team as it aims to develop its presence in the UK’s legacy reinsurance market.
Dixon brings two decades of experience spanning insurance audit, finance, mergers and acquisitions, and legacy portfolio management.
A chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, he most recently served as managing director at Perigon Re. He was previously CEO of Leamington Insurance Advisors and led M&A operations in the UK and Europe for Randall & Quilter Investment Holdings Ltd. for over six years.
Gallagher Re posted on LinkedIn that Dixon’s background in the Lloyd’s market and his experience with complex retrospective transactions will support its current client offerings in legacy solutions. The firm noted that his accounting expertise and exposure to various transaction models position him to handle evolving client requirements in this segment.
Earlier in his career, Dixon worked as an M&A analyst at Catalina Holdings (Bermuda) Ltd., in the finance team of Mitsui Sumitomo Insurance Group, and in transaction services at Grant Thornton. He began his professional path in audit at Mazars.
Gallagher Re is part of Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., a global insurance brokerage and risk management firm. The reinsurance division serves clients in property, casualty, specialty, marine, and energy lines. It also operates a dedicated team focused on UK motor reinsurance and offers custom coverage strategies based on risk profiles and market conditions.
