Pikl – an insurtech specialising in solutions for the sharing economy – has announced a new partnership with Sykes Holiday Cottages.
Sykes Holiday Cottages is an independent holiday cottage rental agency. The partnership with Pikl enables Sykes’ holiday homeowners to purchase Pikl’s specialist insurance solutions through the former’s preferred partners programme.
Pikl’s holiday home product features liability cover for guest injuries, as well as for malicious damage and theft caused by paying guests – two risks that many standard holiday home insurance policies either do not include or which are offered at an additional cost, the insurtech said in a release.
“We’re thrilled to be working with Sykes,” said Pikl founder and CEO Louise Birritteri. “We can now provide Sykes holiday homeowners access to the most appropriate products and cover for their holiday let. Not all holiday home insurance policies are the same, and we believe this new relationship will enable Sykes’ new and existing holiday homeowners to get the comprehensive cover they need.”
“We want to ensure that all of our property owners have access to good cover for their property and the type of letting they provide, hence our partnership with Pikl,” added Sykes Holiday Cottages commercial director Harriet Kerr. “Nobody wants anything to go wrong when letting out their holiday home. But, in the rare instances that it does happen, it’s good to know that our property owners will be protected financially.”
Last year, Pikl entered into a partnership with esure Group and Sheilas’ Wheels, enabling the latter two to sell the host insurance top-up product from Pikl .
