Remember when Legal & General rolled out its SmartQuote platform for home insurance buyers? Now the British financial services giant has made it available to intermediaries via GI Connect.
Through the tool, advisers can now easily obtain buildings and contents insurance quotes for customers provided that they can supply the client’s name, date of birth, and address.
The firm’s general insurance unit said SmartQuote for Intermediaries will see advisers “answering as little as one question” in the streamlined application process. The quote system uses big data and innovative technology, and is described as mobile-friendly.
“With SmartQuote, we are redefining the rules of how advisers and their customers get a quote for home insurance and challenging any lingering misconceptions about the quotation process,” said Simon Hird, director of broker and intermediary at Legal & General’s general insurance division.
“Gone are the days of endless questions and the home insurance journey being considered a hassle or time-consuming.”
Hird also pointed to Legal & General’s commitment to using technology in finding solutions for advisers and their customers. “We believe SmartQuote will revolutionise the intermediary market by making home insurance quotes quicker and simpler for everyone involved,” he stated.
