It looks like InsureTrek18 is well on track ahead of the three-day ‘fundraising expedition’, with the initiative already raising more than £85,000 for the Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD) campaign and the Alzheimer’s Society.
Starting on September 16, a team of over 20 individuals led by Covéa Insurance’s Simon Cooter (pictured while training with his daughter at Mount Snowdon) will trek Mont Blanc – the highest mountain in Western Europe – to raise funds for dementia research.
“Support from colleagues at Covéa and across the insurance industry has been amazing and has enabled us to reach the initial milestone of £75,000 and surpass it,” noted Cooter. “On behalf of the whole InsureTrek18 team, I just want to say a huge thank you.
“All of the proceeds will go towards funding research into treatments for dementia, in all its forms. Our JustGiving page is still open and we are still welcoming donations because every pound really does matter in the fight against this terrible disease.”
Among those who have donated are HSB Engineering Insurance and Carpenters Group.
