The Ardonagh Group, an independent insurance distribution platform, has announced the acquisition of SRB Assekuranz Broker AG (SRB), a Swiss-based insurance broker with a strong presence in the industrial sector.
Founded in 1980, SRB has established itself as a key player in the corporate insurance space, offering specialised expertise through a dedicated risk engineering division. The company, which employs around 30 professionals across offices in Switzerland and Liechtenstein, currently manages a premium pool estimated at €120 million.
According to a news release, SRB will continue operating under its existing leadership, with chief executive Edoardo Leusciatti remaining at the helm. The company will join Ardonagh’s MDS Group platform, which oversees operations in Latin America and other global regions.
“I am delighted to welcome the SRB team to the Ardonagh family. Their experience and knowledge will enhance our long-standing partnership and ability to excel in this strategically important sector,” said José Manuel Fonseca, CEO of MDS Group. “By deepening our collective capabilities and further empowering our teams across our geographical locations, we will elevate our service to clients.”
SRB has maintained a long-standing affiliation with Brokerslink, the global risk management and brokerage network established by MDS, since 2007. Leusciatti serves on the board of Brokerslink, reinforcing ties within the broader Ardonagh ecosystem.
“Joining The Ardonagh Group alongside our longstanding partners MDS will expand our presence in the local market and beyond,” Leusciatti said. “It provides significant gains in scale and access to important specialty and technological resources which strengthens our customer proposition.”
The announcement follows a series of significant acquisitions by The Ardonagh Group. In January, Ardonagh acquired a majority stake in Private Insurance Assuradeuren B.V. and Private Insurance Nederland B.V., two Dutch firms specialising in insurance services for high-net-worth individuals, as well as in the New Zealand-based underwriting agency Ando Insurance Group Limited.
