Clear Group is racking up a cricket score of acquisitions – now standing at 37 not out, after it hit a six with its move for Sheffield-based broker IFM Insurance Brokers Limited.
The latter, which boasts 24 staff and a growing GWP in excess of £12 million, has been present in the Yorkshire region for more than 30 years. It provides insurance across the southern area of the county, with a particular focus on SMEs, tradesmen and large manufacturing firms.
Included among that team of 24 are directors Jamie Harvey, Alister Smith and MD Mark Barlow, all of whom will be making the jump across to Clear. Barlow noted that the timing was right for the firm.
“Being part of a business, which shares our culture and values was so important when making this decision,” he said. “That’s why the Clear Group was the standout choice. Its commitment to investing in our business will be a massive benefit for our clients and staff.”
Meanwhile, Clear’s group CEO Mike Edgeley noted a long-standing friendship between the companies.
“Mark and his team have built a great and highly respected business which is a great fit for Clear,” he said. “With Goldman Sachs backing, we will invest in the IFM business so they can take the next steps in their growth journey.”
