Only last week Partners& onboarded Matt Crisp as an M&A executive and its focus on mergers and acquisitions is showing no sign of waning as the firm today announced its acquisition of the employee benefits provider Health Matters (UK) Ltd. The broking firm noted that the move is part of its strategy to provide a “seamless insurance, employee benefits and risk management proposition to clients.”
Founded in 1999, Coventry-based Health Matters employs 11 people who will all be integrated into the Partners& Wellbeing, Engagement and Benefits team. MD of Health Matters James Henson will report to Marcia Reid, managing partner of this division, while founder Simon Hurley-Smith, will remain with the business as adviser/consultant to Partners&.
Discussing the deal, Hurley-Smith noted that Health Matters was built on five pillars – making a difference, quality service, pure transparency, people focus and forward-thinking. He said it was obvious from the first interaction with Partners& that these values were aligned to those of the broker.
“We could not be happier to be joining forces with an award-winning company,” he added, “whose focus is so clearly on clients and people.”
Meanwhile, Partners& CEO Phil Barton said the firm was delighted to welcome Hurley-Smith, Henson and all the team to the group and emphasised the correlation between the health and wellbeing of employees and the health of a wider business. He also added the firm’s recent awards success reconfirms its belief that putting people at the forefront of a business is the right thing to do.
“By joining forces with Health Matters,” he said, “we are bringing together experienced specialists at a time when clients really need that expertise to protect themselves, their people and their business.”
