Independent specialist re/insurance broker Miller has announced the appointment of Alessia Lombardi (pictured above) as an account executive within its accident & health (A&H) team.
Lombardi brings over 20 years of experience in the Lloyd’s and international markets, with significant expertise in handling complex placements across accident & health products. Her background includes work with intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations.
Prior to joining Miller, Lombardi served as an executive director at Special Contingency Risks, where she led the accident & health team. She also spent more than a decade at Willis Towers Watson, where she was a divisional director focused on broking Southern European accident & health business into the London market.
This appointment aligns with Miller’s ongoing investment in its accident & health team. Since the start of 2022, Miller has expanded its wider sports & entertainment team by over 30%.
Lombardi is set to join the company in September 2024 and will report to Tim Nagle, Miller’s head of sports & entertainment. Nagle remarked that Alessia’s appointment represents a significant step in the development of Miller’s accident & health proposition, as well as its broader sports & entertainment practice.
He noted that her extensive product knowledge and experience in structuring complex placements across international markets, including high-risk territories, will be valuable as the company continues to address the complex needs of its global clients.
Lombardi also commented on her return to the market, saying that she looks forward to joining Miller’s team. She expressed her enthusiasm for working with Nagle and the team to further develop Miller’s position in the accident & health sector.
Earlier this month, Miller also bolstered its sports and entertainment division with the appointment of Cedric Thevenot as an account executive.
Thevenot brings over 30 years of industry experience to his new role, having most recently worked at Verspieren, an independent French brokerage. He has also held senior positions at Gras Savoye and AXA, with a focus on the sports and entertainment sector.
