A new partnership is under way between Ecclesiastical Insurance and Middleton Insurance Services as the two firms attempt to grow a property scheme.

One of several schemes that Ecclesiastical acquired in the second half of last year, the property scheme has moved to the insurer as it looks to develop its overall proposition and grow its book.

“Ecclesiastical is well known as a specialist insurer of older properties but we have the capability and appetite to write property schemes in a much broader range of sectors via our schemes team,” said Tony Fletcher, corporate business director at Ecclesiastical.

“We are really looking forward to working with Middleton on developing this scheme. It is well-established and the broker has an excellent track record and a solid business plan that we feel we can help develop and grow. Real estate and property owners is one of the areas we are looking to develop going forward, complementing the work carried out by our dedicated real estate team.”

Fletcher highlighted that Ecclesiastical has been operating in the schemes space for more than 25 years and that the firm is on the lookout for brokers who really know the market. This experience is something that Allen Porter, managing director at Middleton, is keen to capitalise on.

“We believe that Ecclesiastical’s proven track record of developing schemes and the specialist knowledge that they have will add real value to us and help us achieve our growth targets,” he said.
