Global independent claims management solutions provider Crawford & Company has launched a new environmental consultancy unit in the UK.
The new Crawford Environmental Consultancy (CEC) is a multi-disciplinary team designed to support clients through early environmental incident response and investigation, rapid incident containment, as well as immediate remediation, a release said.
Together with an accredited contractor and Crawford’s in-house environmental adjusting teams, CEC provides support across multiple areas, such as in-house environmental expertise, technical data collection and analyses, design and implementation of strategic remediation schemes, guidance on environmental legislation, and direct interaction with regulators. CEC can also help facilitate the use of environmentally sustainable remediation practices, Crawford added.
Crawford has tapped Matthew Renshaw (pictured) – a skilled geo-environmental scientist with over 21 years of sector experience – to lead the CEC. Renshaw’s expertise includes pollution response, contaminated land site investigations, as well as oil spill investigation and remediation, and he has worked with insurers, loss adjusters, utility and infrastructure companies, property developers, and other commercial clients.

Bart himself was appointed as international CEO by Crawford just last month. A Crawford veteran of 18 years, Bart previously served as Asia-Pacific president and Australia CEO.
