Coalition picks Simonsen as insurance head for Europe

US-headquartered cyber insurance provider Coalition has named Tine Simonsen (pictured) as head of insurance for Continental Europe.

Simonsen, an experienced leader in cyber underwriting and broking, will be responsible for driving Coalition’s growth in the European market. She brings nearly 14 years of expertise in financial lines and cyber insurance.

In her most recent role at AIG, Simonsen led the Nordic financial lines team, which is said to be a key profit driver for the insurer. Her career also includes a decade at WTW, where she took on several positions, culminating in her role as cyber growth leader for Northern Europe.

Reflecting on her new remit, Simonsen said: “I’m truly inspired by Coalition’s mission to help protect the unprotected.

“Coalition is on a journey to change the cyber risk mitigation landscape by combining technology and security insights with insurance best practices. They are actively helping policyholders before they experience a loss, effectively ushering in a new era of cyber insurance.”

Meanwhile Coalition international head Kyle Bryant highlighted the importance of Simonsen’s experience in the European market.

“Throughout her years in specialised insurance, Tine has attained valuable insights into European market strategy, making her the best person to spearhead the expansion of Coalition’s active insurance across Europe.

“It’s important to us to have someone centrally located with such a deep understanding of the insurance industry, and we’re thrilled that Tine has joined to help us expand upon our ability to protect the unprotected globally.”

According to Simonsen’s LinkedIn profile, she is based in Denmark.
