St. Luke’s Hospice in Basildon has received a timely boost, thanks to some generous insurance brokers.
Staff at SEIB Insurance Brokers cast their votes online to donate £2,500 to a charity of their choice and St. Luke’s came out on top – marking the second time it has received the company’s support having also picked up £2,500 back in 2018.
“Helping others is what SEIB is all about and I am delighted that we have been able to grant this money to St Luke’s at this moment in a time when it is so desperately needed,” said SEIB CEO Barry Fehler.
The charity, which supports people in Basildon and Thurrock who have illnesses that are no longer curable, is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year – but it is one that has been tested by the coronavirus outbreak.
“We are hugely grateful to SEIB Insurance Brokers and its employees for choosing to support the Hospice,” said St. Luke’s Hospice interim head of fundraising & marketing Michelle Mitchell. “This generous donation will help us continue offering support to people whose illnesses are no longer curable, as well as extending care to their families, friends and carers. This support is crucial, even more so now, and we are truly thankful for this kind donation.”
