The establishment of Howden House is part of the group’s regional expansion, aiming to become a primary insurance provider for businesses and individuals in Greater Manchester and surrounding areas. This development coincides with Howden’s 30th anniversary and reflects the company’s strategy to build a presence in the North West, according to a news release.
“Howden House is not just a physical space; it’s a commitment to our growth in the North West and our dedication to providing exceptional service,” said Carl Shuker, CEO of Howden UK&I.
The HQ offers a range of insurance services, from motor, home, and healthcare insurance to professional indemnity, real estate, and employee benefits. The new headquarters will support Howden’s existing branches in Altrincham, Bolton, and Wilmslow.
The Manchester office will also provide training for apprentices, including recent school and university graduates, through Howden’s Early Careers Programme.
“We are excited about our future here and look forward to making a meaningful impact in the region,” said Shuker. “Manchester is defined by its people and those that see potential in the region, which is why Howden is committed to attracting and retaining the best local talent to drive sustainable business growth and economic prosperity for the North of England as it establishes itself as a global powerhouse.”
Designed for collaboration, Howden House features flexible workspaces, including hot desks, meeting pods, and a business lounge. Six meeting rooms are named after iconic Manchester landmarks. The location near Salford Central station aims to improve accessibility for both clients and staff.
In March 2023, Howden acquired Reich, a long-established Manchester insurance company, as part of its expansion. Reich was rebranded as Howden on November 4, 2024.
