FUW Insurance Services received three awards at the inaugural Success Through Skills Awards 2025, held in Cardiff.
Senior account executive Ann Harries Jones won the gold award in the Welsh Language Champion category, while Hazel Eldridge, administration manager, was a gold winner in the Higher Apprenticeship Learner of the Year category. Faye Morgan received a silver award in the Apprenticeship Learner of the Year category.
The event, organised by training providers ACT and ALS, recognises learners and employers committed to skill development, career progression and workplace contributions.
Jones has worked at FUW Insurance for more than 30 years as an insurance account executive covering the Isle of Anglesey. She has supported Welsh language customers and contributed to ensuring company documents are available in Welsh. In 2017, she was involved in the company’s role at the National Eisteddfod in Bodedern, Anglesey.
Eldridge joined the company as an account handler after 37 years in banking. She was later promoted to regional lead account handler and then administration manager. In her role, she oversees 32 account handlers and has supported staff in obtaining Cert CII qualifications.
Meanwhile, Morgan joined the company in July 2023 without prior experience in insurance or finance. She achieved her Cert CII qualification within 13 months and secured a place in the company’s in-house account handler academy.
FUW Insurance board chair Ann Beynon said the awards are recognition of the staff’s hard work and dedication.
“These successes are particularly gratifying as they embody the wealth of talent, experience and enthusiasm we have in FUW Insurance Services Ltd across many generations,” she commented. “Their achievements demonstrate the value of investing in our people and fostering a culture of excellence, which benefits the company and customers.”
Beynon, who was appointed in 2023 and is the first female chair of the insurance firm, said that she aims to strengthen the company’s core market while also looking for growth within the wider economy of rural Wales.
