Specialist agricultural and commercial insurer Dallas Scott Davey (DSD) has appointed Toby Baker (pictured) to spearhead the company’s expansion into Northamptonshire and surrounding counties as part of its broader growth strategy.
DSD, which is part of the TL Dallas Group, is strengthening its presence in the farm and estates insurance sectors, focusing on offering tailored solutions to rural businesses.
Baker, who brings extensive experience in rural risk insurance from his time at Lycetts, will lead the expansion from his base in Pilton, Northamptonshire. His appointment is central to DSD’s plan to increase its client base in key areas including Leicestershire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, and Warwickshire.
As part of its regional growth, DSD also plans to open a satellite office within a livestock mart to enhance local service delivery.
Baker expressed his excitement about joining DSD.

"I’m looking forward to expanding the client base and delivering bespoke solutions to farmers and estate owners across the region."

Since launching in Lincolnshire in late 2021, DSD has established a strong presence across the UK. The firm operates from Plowright House on the former University of Lincoln agricultural campus, a fitting location for its focus on agricultural insurance.
In addition to its core agricultural expertise, DSD also provides insurance solutions for businesses, particularly in the health and care sector and among sports clubs. The company recently formed partnerships with the Lincolnshire Football Association, Lincoln City Football Club, and the Lincolnshire Care Association to offer tailored insurance solutions.
These initiatives are part of DSD’s broader strategy to increase its footprint across the UK, with a focus on serving rural and regional clients. DSD’s partnership with the Lincolnshire Football Association is aimed at providing affordable insurance options for local football clubs, while also fostering stronger community ties.
