RSA’s leadership training programme for insurance brokers recently received accreditation from the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII), the major insurer has announced.

The Platinum Broker Leader Programme, launched by RSA in September 2015, is a seven-month intensive programme that provides future leaders with face-to-face management training on major business themes, focusing on insurance broking.

Brokers attending the programme are partnered with mentors from RSA, who are also expected to develop their coaching and leadership skills during the training.

RSA said completion of the programme contributes towards the CII members’ Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme.

“We are delighted that our Platinum Broker Programme has received CII CPD accreditation, an organisation recognised as setting industry standards for continuous professional development in the insurance sector,” said Owen Thomas, broker relationship director at RSA.

Thomas said the first set of brokers have successfully graduated from the programme.

“There is a definite need to invest in the future talent across our industry and at RSA we see this as a key pillar of our broker proposition,” he said.

Keith Richards, CII managing director of engagement, praised RSA for committing to “help raise leadership standards in the best interests of consumers, while also helping brokers grow their business through shared knowledge and training.”
