Qatar Insurance Group’s international specialty insurance and reinsurance subsidiary QIC Global is set to have a unified identity.
In an announcement, QIC Global said its core companies will be aligned by assuming the Antares name, which is the branding for QIC Global’s London and Asia-based Lloyd’s business. In the firm’s view, the “well-regarded” brand signifies the international nature of the group.
“I am extremely pleased to announce that, following a review, a rebrand will see QIC Global core companies adopt the Antares brand name, which better reflects the internationality of our operations and is more fitting for a growing specialty (re)insurance business,” said QIC Global and Qatar Re chief executive Michael van der Straaten.
“Being independent of any geographic location, the Antares name provides us with greater flexibility to add new corporate entities and insurance-related services, which will help facilitate further growth and our future success.”
QIC Global – which consists of Qatar Insurance Group’s international operations, including the Qatar Re and Antares brands – did not provide a timeline for the name shift.
