Mission Underwriters has named Neil McSherry (pictured) as country head for Ireland.
In the newly created position, McSherry will use Mission’s managing general agent model to help skilled underwriters launch their own MGAs in a matter of weeks.
“We are thrilled to have Neil on board,” commented Mission chief executive Adrian Morgan.
“I am confident that with Neil’s experience of establishing and running his own MGA in the Irish market, we will continue to deliver specialist, innovative insurance products to a wider range of clients in Ireland and throughout the EEA (European Economic Area).”
Bringing 25 years of industry experience, McSherry has previously held key positions including head of broker relations and head of liability underwriting at Liberty Insurance. He is also the founder and former managing director of Dublin-based commercial lines MGA Blackrock Insurance Solutions.
McSherry, reflecting on his new role, said: “Joining Mission is an exciting new chapter for me. I’m looking forward to fostering entrepreneurial spirit in the Irish insurance market, collaborating with brokers to address emerging risks, and helping fresh MGAs bring new perspectives to our industry.
