Walsh joined Marsh in 2014 and was previously based in Manchester as UK & Ireland claims leader for the corporate division. Prior to joining Marsh, Walsh worked in the commercial insurance industry for over 25 years in various underwriting, claims, and broking roles, starting with Sun Alliance (now RSA) in 1994 and then spending a significant part of his career with AXA and Ecclesiastical.
“With his extensive background in claims, together with his regional business insight, John is well suited to lead Marsh’s Leeds office and deliver the best of the firm to our corporate clients across Yorkshire,” said McPherson.
“Leeds has a thriving business community and hosts a diverse range of organisations – from small local start-ups to international firms,” said Walsh. “All face an increasingly complex array of risks that stem from wider economic, geopolitical and technological pressures. I’m excited to take the helm of Marsh’s office in Leeds and deliver solutions that enable our clients to manage the risks they face, protect their assets, and continue to thrive.”
