Managing general agent (MGA) OneBefore has launched a new travel insurance product in partnership with Freedom Insurance Services.

The new offering, called ‘Travel Europe’, is aimed at leisure travellers visiting European destinations and includes provisions for individuals with pre-existing medical conditions.

The product follows a previous collaboration between the two firms on the One Tree Travel policy. Travel Europe will be distributed exclusively through Freedom’s newly launched travel insurance panel.

According to OneBefore, the policy has been designed to support travellers who may require additional underwriting due to health conditions, while offering a level of cover tailored to European travel.

“We are pleased to be expanding our partnership with Freedom to deliver a product specifically designed to make European travel more accessible and worry-free for all travellers, including those with pre-existing health conditions,” said Vered Lobel, CEO at OneBefore. “This product offers a bespoke solution for travel within Europe providing comprehensive coverage at competitive rates.”

Meanwhile, Roland Gilliam, director at Freedom Insurance Services said that the product will provide consumers with a “competitive” travel insurance product.

“We are delighted to be expanded our product range with OneBefore, who have been a supportive and collaborative partner throughout,” he added.

The launch comes amid a steadily growing travel health insurance market in the UK. According to industry data, demand for travel cover has rebounded following the pandemic, with medical expenses remaining the most common cause of travel insurance claims. The Financial Conduct Authority has also maintained a focus on improving access to travel insurance for individuals with more serious or multiple medical conditions, following previous concerns about affordability and exclusions.

Specialist providers and MGAs have increasingly entered the space to address these gaps, often using targeted underwriting and distribution partnerships to reach underserved segments.

The partnership between OneBefore and Freedom Insurance reflects a wider trend in the market toward products designed to accommodate varying health profiles and travel needs.
