Marsh has announces a double appointment as it looks to expand across both the UK and emerging markets.
The brokerage giant has appointed Alistair Fraser as international corporate and commercial leader, effective Jan. 1, 2025. According to a news release, this newly established role will see Fraser take charge of corporate and commercial initiatives targeting small and mid-sized businesses across Asia, Europe, India, the Middle East and Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and the Pacific. Fraser will remain based in London and report directly to Flavio Piccolomini, CEO of Marsh McLennan International.
The news release noted that Fraser, who joined Marsh in 2007, brings leadership experience spanning more than 25 years, including his recent tenure leading Marsh’s corporate business in the UK since 2018 and Marsh Commercial since 2022. In his new role, Fraser will work with global leaders across Marsh McLennan, delivering specialised health and workplace benefits solutions tailored by client size, industry, and region.
Alistair Brighton (pictured) will succeed Fraser as CEO of corporate and commercial UK, pending regulatory approval, also effective Jan. 1, 2025. Brighton will report to Chris Lay, CEO of Marsh McLennan UK, and continue as a member of Marsh’s UK Executive Committee.
Brighton, who has been with Marsh since 2004, is currently UK sales leader, a role he has held since January 2022. His new responsibilities as CEO of corporate and commercial UK will focus on risk and insurance solutions for Marsh’s UK-based small and mid-market clients.
“Small and mid-market clients currently face complex and increasingly interconnected risk exposures stemming from global volatility, including supply chain disruption, access to capital and cashflow, and talent retention,” said Piccolomini. “Alistair’s international experience and deep industry knowledge will be crucial as we work to enhance our services for our Corporate & Commercial clients across international markets.”
Lay added: “Alistair Brighton’s leadership in the UK insurance market and commitment to client service and innovation make him a natural choice to lead UK Corporate & Commercial, as we continue to help our clients tackle the unique challenges they face and capitalise on future opportunities.”
