Many Group, the parent firm of pet insurance brand ManyPets, has announced a significant leadership transition.
Group CEO and co-founder, Steven Mendel (pictured above, left), has made the decision to step down from his position, with Luisa Barile (pictured above, right), formerly the CFO and currently the CEO of ManyPets UK, set to take his place.
“After 12 years leading our business, from its beginning as a market-challenging start-up to the major pet insurance brand that it is today, it is time for me to step aside,” Mandel said. “Businesses need change – change of perspective and style, and we are no different from that. And I too feel like I need a change.”
Expressing his pride in the company’s achievements, Mendel highlighted the transformative impact ManyPets has had on the pet insurance industry through innovation and customer-centric product offerings.
“Businesses need different leaders at different stages and so it is time for a change,” Mendel said. “For me, I am looking forward to my next challenge, at the same time I am pleased to pass the leadership baton to Luisa who will, I am confident, capably lead Many Group as it continues to grow from strength to strength.”
Mendel also shared his future involvement with the company, confirming that he will remain “very much connected to the business” as a non-executive director on the board.
Recently, the firm also unveiled its new UK executive team, which includes fresh appointments to the roles of chief underwriting officer and chief operating officer. Barile is set to continue leading this team as she steps into her new role as group CEO.
“I am pleased to be able to continue to tap into Steven’s experience and support as he remains involved in the business from a board perspective. Looking to the future, as the new group CEO, I am confident that ManyPets is headed in the right direction with a solid plan that builds on the clear success of the past,” Barile said.
Mendel is slated to leave Many Group in mid-April.
