Lycetts, an equine and bloodstock insurance broker, has formed a new partnership with the Event Horse Owners Association (EHOA).
The one-year deal will see Lycetts presenting a prize to the highest placed EHOA member at the BE90 and BE100 championships during the Voltaire Design Badminton Grassroots Championships in May.
“We are delighted to support the EHOA, which helps enable event horse owners to network, socialise and contribute to the sport,” associate director Tim Slinger said in an emailed release. “This partnership not only symbolises Lycetts’ deep-rooted commitment to the equine sector but also underscores our dedication to nurturing the spirit of eventing.”
In addition to its partnership with EHOA, Lycetts has introduced a new £1,000 prize for the Eventing Spring Carnival’s Grantham Cup, which is scheduled to take place at Thorseby Park this Easter weekend.
The prize will be awarded to the highest-ranking Lycetts-insured rider, according to a company release.
“We’re always looking for innovative ways to enhance the competitive spirit and enjoyment of equestrian events,” said Peter Knowles, sales and marketing director at Lycetts. “The introduction of this new £1,000 prize at the Grantham Cup is a testament to that commitment.
“It’s a thrilling addition to a highly competitive class, that ensures riders are recognised for their exceptional skills and dedication.”
Lycetts has been a sponsor of the Grantham Cup since 2013. It also sponsors National Hunt jockey Charlie Deutsch.
The broker recently extended its sponsorship deal with Deutsch, who won the 2023 Betfair Chase with Royale Pagaille.
“We feel talent should be encouraged, and our backing of Charlie, and our other jockeys, is just one of the ways we support the racing industry,” Lycetts regional director Willam McCarter said back in January.
