The usage-based commercial insurance broker hubb has appointed Sonya Homewood (pictured) as its new strategic advisor.
Homewood has over 30 years of experience serving in senior leadership roles, which include head of customer operations for comparethemarket.com, and her most recent role as chief operating officer for commercial lines at Royal Sun Alliance (RSA).
A company release stated that Homewood joins hubb as the company “intensifies its focus on talent, technology, and acquisition growth in 2022.”
“Hubb is a breath of fresh air in an industry crying out for simplicity and transparency. Therefore, I’m delighted to be joining hubb’s dynamic team, whose desire to put their clients at the heart of everything they do, perfectly aligns with my own values and beliefs,” commented Homewood on her appointment.
“Sonya is a very impressive individual, and the success she has achieved for those organisations she has worked for throughout her career speaks volumes about the quality and value of her advice,” added hubb advisory board chairman Peter Harvey. “Her appointment is hugely exciting to everyone here at hubb, and we look forward to her playing a key role in driving strategic and accelerated growth in the months and years to come.”
“We are delighted and honoured to welcome Sonya to the hubb team,” said hubb chief insurance officer Stuart Middleton. “With her vast experience working in financial services, she is perfectly placed to help guide our company towards its development goals, and I have every confidence that her advice will prove invaluable in this regard.”
Middleton was appointed chief insurance officer just last November. He joined hubb from Great American Insurance Group, where he previously served as European underwriting director. Middleton had also served as a non-executive director of hubb in 2020.
