Specialist engineering and tech insurer HSB has appointed a new managing director for its warranty and building control practice.
The Munich Re-owned firm has named David Swigciski (pictured above) as the new MD for Premier Guarantee, taking over from Jacki Goodman who retired at the close of 2023.
With expertise in specialist insurance, Swigciski joins HSB after serving as director of client service at DAS UK Group. His career, spanning over two decades, is marked by contributions to the growth and profitability of insurance firms.
During his tenure at DAS and RSA, Swigciski was key in implementing strategic and operational enhancements within specialty insurance segments, notably within engineering, marine, power, and construction industries.
Prior to DAS UK, Swigciski also worked as an SME trading director and other roles for RSA for four years. He also held various roles at the UK Ministry of Defence for more than a decade.
Swigciski, who will be reporting to Stephen Worrall, HSB's CEO for the UK and Ireland, is set to spearhead the expansion and advancement of the company's warranty and building control operations under the Premier Guarantee umbrella.
“David's extensive experience in various specialty insurance sectors will greatly benefit our leadership team and is crucial for the sustained growth and success of our warranty and building control business,” Worrall said.
Elsewhere for the specialist insurer, HSB has also bolstered its business development line-up with the addition of Sarah Purnell, Michael Farrugia, and Lydia White to the team.
