Insurance legal adviser HF has acquired the boutique employment law firm Law By Design, along with two other entities within the By Design group.
Law By Design, an employment law firm in the North West, offers specialised employment services to both private and public sector clients, including the NHS, education institutions, and local authorities.
The firm, along with Investigations by Design and HR Solutions by Design, which provide HR, HR investigations, and Organisational Development services, has built a strong reputation for its expertise.
HF highlighted the acquisition as a milestone to broaden its existing commercial specialisms, allowing clients of both firms access to an expanded range of legal services. The merger is also part of HF’s ongoing investment and innovation strategy.
Sue Morrison (pictured above), managing director of Law By Design, explained the reasoning behind the transactions and what it means for the companies moving forward.
“We’re excited to be joining HF. Our approach to providing tailored, high-quality, innovative and pragmatic solutions for our clients perfectly aligns with their quality values and people-first culture. Joining HF really was a ‘no brainer’ and we are looking forward to being able to offer our existing clients the benefit of the technology and further investment provided by HF’s ongoing growth strategy as well as the opportunity of developing a joint customer focus with HF clients,” Morrison said.
Ronan McCann, CEO and managing partner at HF, also expressed enthusiasm about the new partnership.
“I’m looking forward to welcoming our new colleagues from Law By Design as we continue the expansion of our commercial service lines. The skills, cultures, and client focus of both organisations are perfectly aligned and give us a great opportunity to deepen even further the relationships we have with our clients across the board,” McCann said.
