He may have only been at Gallagher since 2017, but Simon Collings (pictured) has impressed enough to earn a significant promotion.
The 30-year veteran, who has held roles at the likes of Miller, Marsh and JLT, was in the position of market management director for UK retail at Gallagher. However, now he will move up the ranks – taking on the role of managing director of the national broking and placement team within the UK retail division.
In his new position, Collings will oversee the giant’s national broking strategy, as well as its placement activities. He will also work closely with regional directors.
“I’m delighted to have the opportunity now to take the helm of this team, following in the footsteps of Mark Armitage, who has been instrumental in overseeing Gallagher’s strategic placement direction over recent years,” he said.
“The ability to broker the best deals for our clients is vital in order to retain and develop new business. I look forward to working with our regional teams to build our existing broking capabilities, strengthen our insurer relationships and develop new products.”
CEO of Gallagher’s UK retail division Michael Rea described Simon as having “long-standing insurer relationships and expertise in managing risks for clients.”
“Investing in talent is an important part of our long-term growth strategy – and I am very pleased that we have made this key leadership appointment from within our existing team,” he said.
