It has been quite the journey for Kally Shane (pictured) who has climbed H&H Insurance Brokers’ (HHIB) corporate ladder to be promoted to the role of operations director.
“It’s a real honour to be made a director and I’m delighted to be part of the team which will be taking the business forward,” Shane said. “I’ve been given so many opportunities to develop my career and this is definitely the culmination of those years of working towards an ultimate goal.”
Shane started her work at HHIB in February 2010 as an account handler trainee. She completed her industry qualifications within two years of joining the company and was promoted to account supervisor in 2015. Three years later, she was promoted to operations manager and became head of operations in 2020.
In 2022, Shane was among a handful of applicants across the UK to be selected for a prestigious “Future Leader Programme,” an industry training programme run by insurance giant Aviva. During that time, she travelled regularly to Aviva offices in London, for training with industry experts and leaders, and attended national conferences and events, alongside her day job. She will complete the two-year course in October 2024.
“The course has definitely enhanced my role at HHIB on both an operational and strategic level, and I’ve brought back lots of initiatives and ideas that we can use in our processes and planning,” she said. “It’s a really exciting time to be part of HHIB, as we grow and expand our team and the sectors and regions in which we work, as well as focusing on incorporating new technologies into the business.”
As operations director, she will be working side-by-side with HHIB managing director Paul Graham and will lead a team of account handlers, brokers, and claims handlers.
Commenting on the news, Graham said: “Kally’s enthusiasm, expertise, and experience are a huge asset, and her well-deserved promotion to director level was a natural step on her career path.”
