Regional broker Finch Group has acquired Citymain Insurance Services, a boutique client-driven business based in North Hampshire.
Finch managing director Vincent Gardner said this is the company’s first acquisition as part of the Broker Network partner strategy.
“It was vitally important to purchase a quality broker that complements our existing operations and has natural synergies,” he said.
Gardner added that for more than 20 years, he has known Citymain owner Phil Maltby, whom he regards for his “strong client relationship ethos and the independent nature of his business.”
“I’m looking forward to working with Phil and the Citymain team to ensure we continue to provide our customers with a truly tailored offering and a personal service,” Garder said.
A five-person team, Citymain focuses mostly on commercial business, though it has a strong high net worth client base.
The business takeover follows Finch Group’s acquisition in November 2016 by Broker Network, the network for independent insurance brokers.
Finch Group has headquarters in Reading and additional offices in Basingstoke, Southampton and the Isle of Wight. It has enjoyed rapid growth in recent years, employing more than 50 people and managing around £20 million GWP.
