FBD Holdings, an Irish insurance company, has hired Jim Ryan as chief commercial officer for its insurance arm. The appointment will be effective from May 9.
Prior to joining FBD, Ryan was the managing director for branch banking at Ulster Bank Group, where he oversaw over 1,300 employees in 110 bank branches. He also worked as sales director for Eircom.
Ryan will be in charge of FBD's 33 branches across Ireland, as well as its consumer and financial solutions businesses. He will report directly to group CEO Fiona Muldoon.
Muldoon said of the hiring: “We are delighted to have Jim's sales leadership as part of our new FBD team. I believe he will make a great contribution to FBD Insurance bringing, as he does, a depth of experience in managing branches around the country as well as excellent commercial financial services experience. We welcome him on board.”
